Youth

The DDRA are very concerned to have a positive approach to the young in our community. We want to encourage both children and parents to take a positive view of being part of the Dorridge community, we don't accept the mantra of there is nothing to do is a valid excuse for vandalism and abuse.

We have a number of positive programmes: we have successfully worked with the Council to get the playground facilities at Bentley Heath to a high standard using a large grant and additional financial support from the local community.

We are keen to get more facilities in the area for children, and would like to see some proper areas set aside for skateboarding and bike-riding. We must be mindful that the parks do not become sterile sancturaries, but are places that encourage lively activity.

Have you got any ideas that would make Dorridge and Bentley Heath a more entertaining place - or is there some project you would like help with? Contact Glennis Portsmouth on 775032.
