The Government have announced the route of a new high speed rail link.
There is to be a new high speed rail link between Birmingham and London. The route is shown here which shows that the route will use a new line (that does not pass along the line through Dorridge). It does however, pass through what appears to be the middle of Hampton-in-Arden and Balsall Common. It is not expected to be built of a few years yet but we will be watching closely to ensure that we are not adversly affected by the development.
