Tree Works in Dorridge Park Woods

Saturday, 6 February, 2010

The Council are going to be thinning out trees in Dorridge Park over the next few weeks.

Following on from the Oaks and Shires event and preparation work it is their intention to fell some of the Pines in Dorridge Wood during February. The delay has been due to the need to obtain a felling licence from the Forestry Commission and this has now been sorted out. They will be bringing in a mobile planker to produce some material from the Pines. Depending on the quality of the timber they will produce planks for bird boxes and path edging or (if good enough) cut some for pressure treating to use as a board walk in the wood.
