In contrast to the Barringer Crater event, the Tunguska object completely disintegrated before hitting the ground and so no crater was formed.

It's relatively easy to picture the ammonite dying, being battered by waves, and this fragment settling out where things were a bit calmer. I can’t help feeling such videos are contrived. Others have been found suddenly frozen in the process of giving birth and others have been found with fine soft tissue detail down to the cellular level (still turgid gills of fish preserved in the Santana Formation - indicating complete fossilization in less than 1 hour). Indeed, it has become an article of faith for those espousing both the young earth creation (hereafter YEC) model and many who hold to the intelligent design model that transitional fossils do not exist and therefore evolution has not taken place.

Diamonds - Learn about the properties of diamond, its many uses and diamond discoveries. In addition, evolutionists had always depicted the fish as living in shallow waters, as a potential reptile preparing to crawl onto the land where it would continue to “evolve.” Yet the Cœlacanth was now found to be living in the deepest ocean waters—a bottom-dwelling fish almost never rising above 180 meters below the surface. 21 The tail of the living Cœlacanth and that of a 140-million-year-old fossil specimen are identical to one another.
